Week 12: Crafting a More Refined Paper Prototype

Updated: Apr 5, 2025

After gathering insights from the past few weeks, this week we focused on creating a more professional and cohesive paper prototype. Our team had a meeting with Andrey, the lab manager, where we presented our solution – the meditative heating blanket. During the session, Andrey sat with us, and together we brainstormed ideas, sketched designs, and envisioned how the blanket should look and function.

Following the meeting, we went through several iterations of sketches, refining our ideas until we agreed on a general design. From there, we began constructing the paper prototype using fabric. We cut the fabric into the shape of a blanket, incorporating soft, subtle outlines of the human body as a guide. On top of this base, we attached patches of fabric with varying textures and colors to represent the different heat zones.

This hands-on process brought our concept closer to reality, helping us visualize the final product while addressing key design considerations. We’re excited to see how this prototype evolves in the next stages!
