This week we managed to get the heat working.
We wrote a code in Arduino IDE.
We took a small piece of fabric and placed the heating disk inside it. We connected everything, hooked it up to the computer, and ran the code.
We tested different heating durations and intensity levels with 7 users.
6 out of 7 users preferred 30 seconds per body area, which supports findings from our previous research.
Voice guidance improved focus and the meditation experience for both users who tried it (2 out of 2).
The results were consistent with previous tests:Users reported an increased sense of calm and better focus on the sensation of warmth.
Areas users found particularly pleasant: abdomen, chest, palm.Less pleasant area: shoulder.
These responses reassure us that we’re on the right path—and they give us even more motivation to bring this concept to life.
For the Coming Week:
Next week, our goal is to come in focused and ready to take a significant step forward: developing the first true version of our product. We’re bringing together everything we’ve learned—from usability testing to technical experiments—into a clearer, more refined direction.
We plan to select the most promising interaction method and design model, and begin building a functional prototype that reflects both the emotional depth and technological vision we’ve been striving for.
