Week 15: User Testing

Weekly Update: User Testing Insights and Next Steps

This week, we made significant progress in our interative design.

We selected different types of fabrics — cotton, non-flammable fabrics, and fabrics that feel pleasant to the touch. We also tested these fabrics during user testing to ensure they meet the comfort standards we aim for.

Main Insights from User Testing:

  • We tested different heating durations and temperatures with 7 users.

  • 6 out of 7 users preferred 30 seconds per body area, validating previous research findings.

  • Voice guidance improved focus and the meditation experience for 2 out of 2 users who tried it.

  • Results were consistent with earlier user tests:users reported increased relaxation and better focus on the sensation of warmth.

  • Pleasant areas: abdomen, chest, palm.Less pleasant area: shoulder.

Open Questions

  • Further testing needed for heating in the leg areas.

  • Additional user testing required for the voice guidance feature.

  • Address the challenge of achieving consistent heat across different body areas and among different users.

What’s Next - Tech Development

  • Develop 8 silicon heating pads working together.

  • Set up 12V 10A power source regulation.

  • Ensure consistent heat across every part.
