This week we continued developing the project through an iterative design process.
We took a cover of a blanket and attached Velcro strips for flexibility and modular placement.
The areas on the body that we chose to focuse on — the shoulders, chest, abdomen, and legs. According to the academic literature, these areas are identified as key zones where meditation and introspective processes commonly take place.
Then we took the heating pads and attached it on of the blanket. We made sure everything was connected, activated it, and the heat passes through the blanket.
Now, the user can place a heating pad in any area they choose within the Velcro zones. The complexity of the previous prototype was that we couldn’t figure out how to let the user place the heating pads on the body.
At the same time this week, we worked on the user experience psychology seminar with Dr. Hadas Erel and submitted a preliminary introduction for the literature review.
